A Wild Finish in Vancouver

The Edmonton Oilers clinched a berth in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Tuesday, holding off a late surge by the Vancouver Canucks to win 3-2 in a thrilling Game 7 contest at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Oilers, who led 2-1 heading into the third period, found themselves clinging to a one-goal lead as the Canucks pulled goaltender Spencer Martin with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.

However, Edmonton netminder Jack Campbell made a sprawling save on a shot by J.T. Miller with just seconds left on the clock to preserve the victory and send the Oilers to the next round.

Evan Bouchard, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Connor McDavid scored for the Oilers, while Elias Pettersson and Andrei Kuzmenko replied for the Canucks.

The Oilers will face the Calgary Flames in the second round, a battle of Alberta that is sure to be filled with excitement and drama.
