Path Length and Damage Reports
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has confirmed multiple tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma on April 19, 2023. These tornadoes ranged in strength from EF1 to EF3, with estimated wind speeds between 105 and 110 mph.
The tornadoes caused significant damage across the state, with reports of downed trees, power lines, and damaged structures. NOAA's preliminary mapping indicates the tornadoes traveled along the following paths:
- EF1 tornado: Norman to Moore (5.6 miles)
- EF2 tornado: Edmond to Guthrie (12.1 miles)
- EF3 tornado: El Reno to Yukon (18.4 miles)
Damage reports have been received from multiple cities across Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Lawton. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is currently assessing the damage and providing assistance to affected communities.
